  • Just about every Mini-Ika sequence is this. She's...just...so...adorable!
  • Won't You Keep It?: The entire part.
Narrator: The Mini-Ika has a lifespan of 150 years...
    • The cold ending doesn't affect the emotion at all. That right there is the real ending!
    • Hearing the song at the credits, and bearing in mind its meaning, which is only enhanced even more when you just see Mini-Ika walking along the beach, where she first met her best friend.
    • Even though we see Eiko in her deathbed, it's because she's about to die of old age, with Mini-Ika still by her side when she leaves us. Sad for Ika but also belongs here because she smiles before she goes, meaning the two had a fulfilled life together.
  • Is This A Crisis? and Is This Really A Crisis?, the last two sequences of Season 1. Ika returning to the sea is played with just enough well-paced drama to break your heart, and the characters' reactions when Ika returns back to the beach house proves how much she invaded their hearts, if not the world.
  • Aren't You Going To Invade? Ika is convinced someone has planted a bomb at the Lemon, and it's about to go off. Her immediate reaction is to shield Nagisa from the explosion with her body.
  • Won't You Join A Club? (S2, Ep 7.3): Ika announcing Kiyomi's house has been successfully invaded.
  • Isn't It Just The Two Of Us!?: Chizuru spending quality time with Ika alone and telling her that she wants to be friends with her.
  • The closing theme for the first season, a song about making a friend. Particularly appropriate at the end of the first season, over a montage of various experiences not otherwise covered by the anime, ending with Ika looking out at the ocean as usual, then she turns, as someone has apparently called her. She cheerily raises her hand, then runs to the source. Also appropriate is when it's played over the end of episode 9, with Ika and Kiyomi holding hands as they look out over the ocean together.
  • Isn't That A festival?
    • Ika and Eiko get into a huge fight over Ika's careless attitude towards Eiko's feelings regarding her videogames, resulting in Ika feeling Eiko's mad over nothing and Eiko refusing to speak to Ika. This continues well into the following day with the festival, where the two are still not getting along. When Ika accidentally gets separated from the group and lost in a freak downpour, Eiko is the only one running about in the rain looking for her, at one point in a total panic thinking Ika died in the water (it was a handkerchief). When Eiko finds Ika, she's hiding near an ornate stone stairpiece, and Ika begins to fear she can't return home since she ruined Eiko's sandal and Yukata. Eiko then shows up momentarily after this, and offers Ika her hand to get up. Ika, embarrassed and ashamed, shifts her position towards Eiko and begins apologizing about ruining the outfit. Eiko simply brushes it off and tells her she wouldn't get mad over that, far more happy that Ika is just safe. Ika is so relieved, she lunges and grabs onto Eiko's waist, sobbing heavily into Eiko's yukata and calling Eiko's name, the two having made up.
      • The episode continues after the credits showing Eiko and Ika getting mad over something else and refusing to speak to each other again. The episode, and thus season 2, end as well.
  • The ED of the OVA shows scenes of Ika and Eiko at odds with each other, yet the last one is of Ika's tentacle gripping Eiko's leg as she sleeps on the side of the bed. They really are good friends.
  • Aren't you frightened? Ika Musume has trouble sleeping due to some previous courage test, so Eiko holds one of her tentacles, when they go to sleep. Aaaaaawwwwww.
  • Chapter 367, Isn't it a Treasure Chest?, has Ika find a treasure chest on a beach, only for her to be disappointed when it turns out to be empty. So Chizuru whips up a treasure hunt for Ika to embark on, and when Ika does find the chest again on a tall cliff... it's still empty. Ika initially believes Chizuru teased her, but then she notices the beautiful scenery of the forest, beach and ocean as the sun sets, and smiles, as she realizes Chizuru's true reward. Well, it wasn't really the reward, as Chizuru simply forgot to put a golden shrimp in the chest, but it adds another layer of heartwarming, as Eiko notes Chizuru better prepare a tasty meal for Ika when she gets back.
  • In chapter 402, Ika realizes that while Kiyomi has nothing but genuine praise to say to others, her own self-confidence is very low. So Ika decides to cheer her on and improve her confidence, and the next day, the entire Lemon Beach House (Including Sanae, Cindy and Isozaki, who came s customers) starts praising her. Although she becomes embarassed by it because she's bad at taking compliments, it's still very heartwarming to see her get such well-deserved praise.
  • In OVA 2.2, Goro's mother, after embarrassing him through much of the arc, tells him that she's been watching him and is very proud of his work as a lifeguard. He tears up a little bit at it.
  • In the Amnesia episode, Chizuru cheerfully tells Squid Girl that she's Eiko's precious little sister. It's sort of inferred, but since Chizuru is Eiko's older sister, it would make Squid Girl her little sister by default, as well.
