• Series 2, during the Land of the Immortals arc: Guin has just “adopted” Kathy and wants her to dress up to show her to her friends. She asks her to remove her finger ring; Kathy vehemently refuses, saying the ring was given to her by her mother, who had received it from her own mother. Guin apologizes, believing Kathy's parents to be dead, and then laments that she has nothing to remember her own mother. A couple episodes later, Kathy leaves the Land of the Immortals, but just before the boat disappears, she removes her ring and throws it to Guin, instructing her to remember her.
