Even a show as cruel as this one has its moments.
- Sonic's treatment towards Soniqua, at first Sonic found her as nothing more than an abomination and a nuisance. But after "Mortal Kombat" in which Soniqua saves his life, he begins to actually bond with her and she eventually becomes one of the few people he actually treats kindly.
- Soniqua's loyalty towards Sonic outweighs a Pokemon Trainer she was working for (she chose to kill said trainer instead of Sonic) and her own mother (she was about to kill Sonic and Tails in Season 5) too.
- Tails, Eggman, Jim, Thunderhead and Kirby all teaming up to save Sonic's life from Mario's forces. Despite all the crap that Sonic has done to them, they were still willing to help him.
- Sonic and Mega Man's conversation was fairly tame and they acted as they're old friends despite not knowing each other for too long. Mega Man didn't even seem annoyed when Sonic referred to him as "Omega Man" and "Opossum Man".
- Everything about Bomberman who is arguably the nicest and most pure hearted character in the show. He was visibly shocked when Sonic had Soniqua eat the bombs worried it's going to kill her/him/it but is relieved after seeing Soniqua is fine complimenting her being an effective bomb dispenser. He then pays Sonic and even gives him extra money for a good job and even offers to buy them drinks. Sonic proudly declares Bomerman as his "new best friend" after this. Unfortunately, Soniqua accidentally spits up bombs on Bomberman killing him and Sonic is clearly depressed by this. It's good to show there is someone in the series that treats Sonic well and it does show if you treat him well, he'll return the favor.
- Mario's love for his younger brother Luigi. It's implied by Luigi that Mario is a glory hound with Luigi being in his shadow as usual but Mario himself made it clear he cares for his brother. When Frogger told Mario that Sonic was responsible for Luigi's death, Mario personally went to Donkey Kong Country to confront Sonic and kill him himself. Mario was annoyed when Sonic didn't kill Frogger, but he was pissed when he allowed Luigi to die.
- Mario also mentioned he misses his mother's cooking.
- He is also a Benevolent Boss. After successfully killing Sonic in the middle of Season 6, Mario decides to go back in time and revive all of his crime pals. Of course another person he brings back to life is Luigi.
- Sonic genuinely deciding to better himself in the begging of Season 4 even apologizing to Knuckles for his actions last time hoping for another chance. Even Knuckles could see that Sonic is being sincere this time and decides to give him another chance. Sonic was indeed going to make himself a better person. It's too bad that his first customer was Tails who took MANY levels in jerkass and ended up causing Sonic to go back to his old self.
- Sonic was arguably at his lowest point in his life in Season 4 after Tails took many levels in jerkass and his other friends abandoning him. However, Kirby suddenly shows up and offers to help get Sonic back on his feet by starring him in a movie. Just note that Kirby could've easily found other people to play Sonic's role but decided to help out his old friend when he was in need.
- In Season 6, when Sonic altered the timeline so he that he was more rich and famous than before, he inadvertently caused Tails to become poor and live on the streets. When the fox requests his old partner to come help, the blue hedgehog, as opposed to ignoring Tails' plight like one might expect, doesn't hesitate a second to rush to his aid. Sonic easily could've used their reversed positions as a chance to give Tails' a taste of his own medicine after what he put him through in Season 4, but he acts as the better person by letting bygones be bygones and assist his old friend.
- Eggman calls Earthworm Jim his best friend in season 8. This was during the time when almost everyone was mocking Jim due to his uselessness.
