Heartwarming / Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed

Go To

Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed had quite the heartwarming moments, especially when it came to Shaggy and Scooby's friendship.

  • The gang all greeting their fans. All get appreciation, even Daphne's weird fanboys... in a way.
  • Daphne encouraging Velma to go on a date with Patrick. When Velma says that she's not "hot" she replies: "Neither am I." For all the times Daphne's been portrayed as shallow, this isn't one of them, she's more than willing to be vulnerable with her friends.
    • Blink-and-you'll-miss-it, it's also sweet is how Fred's way of distracting Patrick is to get him a drink and toast "to the museum."
  • Wickles might be a jerk but he does give Shaggy, under the impression he's a deluded fan, some genuine advice not to follow in his footsteps.
Old Man Wickles: Get out of this game while you got a chance. All of us here ain't nothing to admire. We needed people to believe we were different than we were. Maybe because we believed that there was something wrong with who we were in the first place.
  • Shaggy and Scooby's arc through the film consists of them feeling like they don't contribute to the team. This culminates when, outside the original Mystery Inc. headquarters, Shaggy says to Scooby that he wishes he could do the right thing on purpose for once, and be a hero. Velma explains to Shaggy and Scooby she's always admired them for always having the courage to be themselves and they're their own type of hero.
Velma: You guys are so free. You're never afraid to be who you really are. Whether you're fearful or joyful or hungry. I think you've been heroes all along. You just haven't known it.
    • In the end, Velma decides to go out again with Patrick, this time "as myself." They really did inspire her! Patrick says he'd like that "more than anything."
  • In a deleted scene, Shaggy says to Scooby that he isn't "sucktacular" at all. He gives Scooby the last of his Scooby snacks.
  • The gang congratulating Scooby for defeating the Evil Masked Figure and his monsters and saving them, followed by sweet Daph giving Scooby a little kiss on the nose.
  • The very end, when Velma has her aforementioned makeup with Patrick, Fred admitting that he cares about her a lot more than the attention they get from the public, and Shaggy is affectionately licked by Scooby just because he sees he's there.
