    Story Events
  • Prologue 1
    • Just like in RWBY proper Penny is so natural kind and pleasant to be around. She's is basically a walking moment of heartwarming. She has many moments through the game and the prologue has a lot right off the bat.
      • The first text of the game is Penny walking around Vale saying good morning to everyone around and being excited to finally have a friend in Ruby.
      • Penny goes to great lengths to help David despite having just met him. She saves him from being taken by an unknown party, she buys him new clothes, buys him food, and is willing to fight Glynda Goodwitch all for him.
      • When David raises his voice, he immediately reassures her that he's not angry at her, he's angry at himself for being unable to repay her.
      • This exchange after David asks how he can repay her:
Penny: "... Could you be my friend?"
      David: "That's it?"
Penny: "It's okay if you don't want to..."
David: "Penny I'd love to be your friend."
      Penny: "Really?!"
David: "Of course. But I was just wondering why you'd ask-" (David is cut off by Penny picking him up and squeezing him)
Penny: "Oh, I'm so happy! I made a new friend!"
David: "P-Penny, not to be rude, but I need air!"
Penny: "Oh! I'm sorry!" (Penny puts him down)
David (in thought): Whew... How can someone so petite weigh so much?
Penny: "Hehehe... I got carried away."
David: "I noticed! Is it really such a big deal for you?"
Penny: "Well, you see... I don't have a lot of friends. And those I have, I can't see very often."
David (in thought): ...Well, isn't that just soul crushing. If such a nice girl can't make friends, what chance does the rest of the world have?
David: "Well, don't worry, Penny. I promise to try and be the best friend you'll ever have!"
      Penny: "Really? Really really?!"
David: "Well, you're a literal lifesaver, Penny. It's not really a favor, I actually want you as a friend."
      • When Penny meets Ruby again, she gives her a big hug.
      • When Penny see a complete stranger (Evelyn) crouched over David prodding at him, she immediately jumps in to block her from David.
David (in thought): But the strange girl dodged easily, jumping off the bed while Penny landed on it, sitting between me and her like a mama bear protecting her cubs.
      • Penny and David pinky promise to always be friends.
    • When Ruby is frowning after hearing some unflattering words from Penny about her outfit (though Penny didn't know Ruby was standing behind her), David offhandedly calls her gorgeous to make her to make Ruby smile again.
    • David decide it's okay for Penny to explain his situation to Ruby, reasoning that if she's Penny's friend she his friend too.
    • After the rocky introduction, Evelyn actually proves to be very helpful. She shows David around Beacon and Vale, gives him a wallet and a scroll, and treats him to ice cream.
    • When Penny is feeling uncomfortable, David intentionally drops a heavy metal suitcase on his foot to distract everyone. Evelyn notices and takes Ruby away to give them a moment alone.
    • By the third day since they met, Ruby has already started calling David her friend, to the point when she insists him using her dust crystals isn't a waste.
  • Prologue 2
    • Even tough she just met him, Jack immediately starts encouraging David and praising his skill at adapting to combat.
    • David thinks to himself that the fact that both Penny and Evelyn wanted to be his partner makes him happy.
    • Despite Evelyn's grudge against Jack, Evelyn keeps her opinions to herself so Penny and David can form their own opinions of Jack.
    • After killing the Wa-Lang, Evelyn, Jack, and David all spend time praising Penny, especially how strong she is.
  • Day 1:
    • Ruby's pure joy at the news Penny will be attending beacon.
    • After David explains that he guessed Weiss's named base off Penny's comments of her having a great fashion sense, Weiss is quiet taken with him (much to Ruby and Jaune's irritation).
  • Day 3:
    • As Yang and David get into sparing positions, they begin trading friendly puns back and fourth.
  • Day 4:
    • When David worries about catching up, Weiss offers to share her dust class notes.
  • Day 7:
    • After Jack explains why she was so emotional over her cooking and the team realizes the real reason it tasted so bad, she and Evelyn bury the hatchet. They are nothing but the best of friends for the rest of the game.
    • The reason Jack was so defensive about her cooking: it was her mother's recipes.
    • In-spite of the taste, both David and Penny maintain Jack's pancakes were well made.
  • Day 20:
    • Amber asks why David is so worried about her since he just met her and probably should be afraid of her. He says he's not afraid and offers her help. She asks to be shown out of the amphitheater and what David wants in return. He only asks her to show him her face properly, which she agrees to.
      • When Amber tells David that she's a maiden, he asks what her age and marital has to with anything since he doesn't know what that is in reference to. She smiles and calls him silly.
  • Day 31:
    • When Amber starts talking about the food being serve at the school, David asks her what food she likes and that he'll get those.
  • Day 36:
    • After David learns he didn't have a life before waking up in the crater, he declares it doesn't really bother him and that he still thinks of himself as the same person. Then he asks if his team are still his friends. They resoundingly say yes.
David: "It does bother me a little, yes... I mean, I get it, I'm not human, but it doesn't really change anything, does it? Parents, a family, a life before Beacon... I've lived without those things and I've been doing pretty good for myself, have I not? Now we know they don't exist at all but... I'm still me. I've taken all my days here one at a time, and focused on what I do instead of where I came from. I'll just keep doing that. So... Am I still your friend even if I'm weird?"
Penny: "Absolutely! We promised, after all..."
Evelyn: "As the headmaster said, teams are forever!"
Jack: "And partners, too! I'll be damned if I let you go over something like this!"
      • Ruby overhears the truth about David and keeps it a secret from everyone, even her team.
  • Day 39:
    • David comforts Amber when she starts braking down while remembering what Cinder did to her. She thanks him for worrying about her.
Amber: "Everyone who's ever asked me about things related to my powers did so because they cared about them. The type of person who had them, how they were used, if I was properly trained... But I feel like... You're asking because you're worried about me."
David: "O-Of course I'm worried about you! I mean, how could I not be?
  • Day 41:
    • Penny has so much fun dancing the night away.
    • Despite it having nothing to do with her, Weiss still apologizes for what her father did to Jack's father. Before and after Jack doesn't hold it against her because she realized Weiss isn't like him. Jack even tells her that she's glad she has Winter and that Weiss can come to her if she needs to talk.
  • Day 42:
    • At first Evelyn tries to play off David and her being so late because they were playing a card game to spare Penny's feelings. When Penny correctly guesses it was really because Evelyn and David had sex, Evelyn immediately begs for forgiveness. Much to her surprise (and David's) Penny is completely fine with it and wants to share David with Evelyn because they are both important to her.
  • Day 45:
    • When Penny gets disappointed that she can't talk with her father in private any more, David wants to know what he can do and Penny just asks for a hug.
  • Day 154:
    • After quite some time of Ozpin acting in a mildly antagonistic role, we get to see an utterly heartwarming pseudo-father-daughter day trip between him and Janara.
Evelyn: Thank gods it's over, this was about to give me diabetes.

    Date Events

  • Ruby:
    • During Ruby's first date, David keeps his word and gives Ruby a box of cookies in return for making his weapon. Also, Ruby tries to refuse, saying that she didn't do it to be thanked, she did it because he's her friend (which David is take aback by, considering they had know each other for less than twenty four hours). However, she takes them after he insists and they share them.
      • Earlier, when Ruby got embarrassed when she realize what buying Ninja's of Love 4 meant to the other customers, David comforts her, saying that the owner probably realized it was a gift when she asked for it to be wrapped and that she obviously doesn't think there is anything wrong with liking smutty books if she's buying it for a friend.
  • Weiss:
    • Weiss's first date has her ask David to go dust shopping with her because the other members of RWBY would be a bad fit for it. After David covers for her, Weiss explains that she didn't tell Ruby that they went out because she didn't want to hurt Ruby's feelings.
    • When David hears that someone is spreading lies about Weiss he immediately pledges to help her threw it. After they stop him, they both admit they had fun chasing the lier around and David tells her that he was just a nutcase and people shouldn't judge Weiss.
    • After David checks on her after she loses her fight against Jack, Weiss realizes she has a thing for him. She avoids him for a while and Pyrrha advises her to relax. When David come to check on her, Ruby tricks him into talking with Weiss as she is getting ready for a swim. After David complements her, she reviles she likes him and the two of them spend the rest of the afternoon swimming together.
    • Weiss's fourth date is a CMOH. After David realizes that Weiss is only avoiding him because she feels guilty for running away from him after he told her his secrets, he decides to force his way into talking so he can tell her he wants to be with her. Despite Weiss's request to keep him out both Yang and Blake are easily convinced to stand aside. Ruby also blocks David so he tells Ruby that he does care that Weiss ran from him and that he misses her (which Weiss overhears). Ruby lets him pass and Weiss apologizes to him and they decide to be together, caped of with David giving Weiss her first kiss.
      David: "I... Miss her, Ruby."
      Ruby: "You do?"
      Weiss*muffled* "Heh?"
David: "I understand what happened. I won't lie, it did hurt a bit to see her run from me at the time, but... Still, more than that, I miss having her talk to me. And look at me, smile at me... And that glint in her eye whenever we talk about Dust... And how she lights up whenever we bring up professor Peach..."
Ruby: "She grows on you, doesn't she?"
      • Ruby and Yang both think that David's threat to break the door down to see Weiss is romantic.
      • In the lead-up to the date, when Weiss feels insecure about David's trust in her, he assures her that he does trust her because he likes her and admires how she's willing to sacrifice her pride for others. He then tells Weiss all his secrets.
      David: "Weiss, I trust you."
      Weiss: "Y-You do?"
      David: "Yes."
      Weiss: "But why?!"
      David: "Because of your pride."
      Weiss: "I... I don't understand..."
David: "You put your pride above everything in your life. You're proud of your skills, you're proud of your name, you're proud of your looks and want to be given the respect you deserve for it. Except... There's one thing you don't put your pride above other people. To not make Ruby sad, you resorted to lying and omission. You apologized to Jack for something that wasn't your doing but that you feel responsible for, because of the name you wear so proudly. So... If you can go as far as to tarnish that pride for the sake of others... I don't think I can't trust you, Weiss."
Weiss: "That paints me... As a better person than I really am."
      David: "I respectfully disagree..."
  • Blake:
    • As grim and hard hitting as the news of Tukson's death is for Blake, David still does his best to make Blake feel better by not prying any further and instead just taking her on a walk around the city in silence. He also promises to just be the friend she doesn't have to worry about the other stuff with for now.
      • To unlock the date you have to read with Blake a few times. She looks so happy to be reading with someone.
    • In stark contrast to the first date, the second has David and her reading together and Blake forces him into reading an embarrassing sentence. It's really nice to see Blake laughing.
      • In the lead up to the second date, David gets Blake to nap by getting her to think about warm memories of being on a beach.
      • Also from the lead up, Blake laughing at David's cat puns.
    • For the third date, Blake (with some help from Sun) decides she trusts David enough to tell him that she's a Faunus and about her involvement with the White Fang. When he means her in her room, she is scare enough that she tries to pin him down to explain. However, David states he doesn't care that she's a Faunus (which was a given since his other girlfriend is a Faunus) and after she explains what the White Fang is, he also says he believes she is a good person. It ends with Blake laying down in his lap and David stroking her hair.
David: "Blake, what the hell's gotten into you?!"
      Blake:"..."
      David: (Sees Blake's cat ears) "You're... You're a faunus."
      Blake: "Yes."
David: "Okay, cool. Now, care to tell me what the hell was all that about?!"
Blake: "You don't care at all, do you?"
David: "Blake, my girlfriend is a faunus, remember? Unless this is some kind of heat thing and factors into it, right now I care more about why you attacked me!"
Blake: "There were three things I wanted to tell you today, David... First, that I'm a faunus."
      David: "We established that... Then?"
Blake: "Remember... The first time we went out?"
      David: "Yes."
Blake: "The past I wanted to leave behind and yet still manages to find me... Or maybe I am just tied to it for eternity. David... I was a member of the White Fang."
David: "Soooooo... Let's pretend, for just a moment, that I haven't the slightest idea what the White Fang is."
      Blake: "You WHAT?!"
David: "Yeah, like... I understand that it's supposed to be some big thing but without having prior knowledge, it's the same as you telling me you were a junior detective or something."
Blake: "A junior det-Can't you read the mood even a little?!"
David: "I'm sorry! I've never heard of the White Fang in my entire life! I mean, I get that it's supposed to be something bad, maybe... But I can't for the life of me put you and bad in the same equation, Blake... Wait, is that what the sneak attack was all about?!"
Blake: "... That's not the reaction I was expecting at all... But I think I prefer it."
David: "I would have let you speak your piece anyway... So, what's the White Fang?"
      • Even though Blake wanted to speak to David alone, Team RWBY makes sure to let her know that if she needs help they will be there for her.
      • Evelyn keeps Blake's secret from David out of respect and wants to befriend Blake as well.
    • While it ended in a tragic way, the road to the fourth date with Blake was nice while it lasted. David telling Blake his secret, Sun over hearing and promising he won't tell either, Blake apologizing for to Penny and Evelyn for not taking their relationship with him seriously, and Sun taking Blake and David out for ice cream was all a very pleasant experience. To bad nobody's favorite Psycho Ex-Boyfriend had to ruin it.
  • Yang:
    • During the first date with Yang, when Nora launches Yang through the amphitheater David immediately rushes to check and see if is Yang okay. Despite Yang saying that she fine, David later finds in her room in great pain. David stays with her until she feels better.
    • At the end of the second date with Yang, David promises to get Yang to relax.
    • In the third date, even if it was miss-guided, David goes above and beyond to lighten Yang's load. Helping all of the students, teachers, and takes the job at the club David actual succeeds in leaving Yang with nothing to do, which was another problem. However, the effort didn't go unappreciated.
