• Aunt Peg standing up for Josh at church in Episode 3: Portuguese Custard Tarts
• The final moments of the season 1 and 2 finales. In the first, Josh sleeps next to Rose after her second suicide attempt. In the second, Josh stays with Arnold at the hospital following his panic attack.
• After an episode of misunderstandings and an almost break-up, Arnold apologises to Josh and tells him he loves him by recreating the famous placard scene from Love Actually (while also taking the opportunity to point out the original scene's flaws.)
• In season 3, Arnold practices coming out to his parents on Alan, leading to him singing and Alan standing up declaring "that's my son." It's so moving that Claire is in tears.
