Heartwarming / One Stormy Night

• When Mei and Gabu have a great big happy hug. Also a happy Tear Jerker.
• The entire movie is greatly heartwarming with a few emotional roller-coasters and especially the ending will give you that W.A.F.F..
• Gabu's What You Are in the Dark moment — isolated and trapped in a blizzard and with no guarantee they'll survive, Mei gives Gabu his consent to eat him if it means at least one of them can have the strength to make it to the other side of the mountain. Gabu is very distraught about this, unable to deny he's starving but also staunchly against eating Mei, until he finally relents and agrees to fulfill Mei's dying wish... except he doesn't. Instead he secretly ventures out into the snow to find something for Mei to eat. Gabu loves Mei so much that he'd rather risk dying cold and hungry than betray the bond they have.
  • Mei's willingness to give his own life for Gabu is just as heartwarming, especially since he already knows how much wolves have taken from him both personally and just as a goat. He'll readily meet the same fate his mother did if Gabu gets to live on because of it.
• Star, the movie's theme song. Particularly poignant if you're interpreting Mei and Gabu's relationship as romantic — it's an absolutely gorgeous love song.
