Heartwarming / Nerdy Prudes Must Die

Go To

As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked. You have been warned.

  • Max's reaction to finding out that the "ghost" and "skeleton" he encounters in the Waylon house are just two of the nerdy prudes in costumes. He's actually grateful that they put something like that together for him, saying how cool it was when they tried to scare him. He even says he misjudged them and had thought they hated him. It's a shame the moment is ruined almost immediately when the shoddy floorboards give way.
  • Mayor Lauter repeatedly belittles Steph's intelligence to her face, and she clearly doesn't believe she's smart at all. Peter, without knowing this, sings that she's "smarter than she thinks she is" based on one conversation, and later to her face reminds her that "you're as smart as I know you are."
  • There are some indications that Max may actually have a genuine crush on Grace aside from proving he can screw any girl in school. He adorably stumbles over his words when he asks if he can carry her books (genuinely, not the hardcore sex that she and her Puritan family think so). After they have sex on the football field, he lies on the bleachers while kicking his feet and bashfully smiling, asking "hey, where are you going? Don't you wanna cuddle a little bit?"
  • Kyle says to his cheerleader girlfriend Brenda, "Ya know, cheering takes just as much skill as football does. Sometimes I think you're the main event, and we're just there to support you gals."
  • Stephanie adorably asks Peter to go to the football game, even smiling big when he asks if she wants to go "together." Even though she's been in denial about her feelings until she has to sacrifice Peter, it sounds like a date.
  • The football players apologize to Richie for years of bullying alongside Max, even inviting him into the team huddle as the mascot.
  • Paul and Emma seem to get together in every universe. Paul finally gets an excuse to give Emma his number as part of the neighborhood watch, and she seems to be very aware and into it.
  • Steph never believed for a second that Peter intentionally stood her up at their study date, and immediately goes to look for him. The moment she sees Pete's black eye, she immediately softens, treats him with compassion, and immediately goes to stand up for him.
  • When Grace Chasity goes on a paranoia spree after they find out about the "Nerdy Prudes Must Die" message, she immediately starts interrogating Ruth. Even though they don't have a close relationship, Stephanie immediately goes to Ruth's defense.
  • It's a heartbreaking moment, but Peter's reaction when Steph says she would've gone to homecoming with him is pure joy. He could die happy. Even better when he didn't have to die at all and they do end up going to homecoming together.
  • It's corny, but Jason saying he had a nice time at homecoming with Grace, calling her pretty, and asking how he could make up for teasing her is cute.
