Heartwarming / Lupin III: The Columbus Files

Go To

  • A heart-melting scene: Lupin tries to jog an amnesic Fujiko's memories by trying to jump her, but when he notices the sheer fright on Fujiko's face, he changes his mind and instead hands her his jacket to keep her comfortable.
  • The opening of the movie itself is one, as it shows despite all the tricks and backstabbing, Lupin and Fujiko truly do love each other as much as people like them are capable.
  • A big one happens during the climax: Rosaria, after learning that her father Barton had gone corrupt and planned to use his research of Orgone Energy to create a weapon to take over the world instead of finding a cure for the illness that took her mother's life, is stricken with such shock and revulsion that she curses the good memories she had of him and tries to kill him, but is unsuccessful. Before the Orgone-enhanced Barton can crush her skull, Lupin makes the save by two-foot kicking Barton in the head and into the Orgone reactor. Lupin then gives Rosaria Barton's locket and reminds her that, even though the person Barton has become is dead to her, the loving father he once was will still live on in her memories, and that there's no harm in holding onto them. Rosaria opens the locket and sees the photo of her as a child inside and the inscription on the lid that says "My dear daughter, with love".
