Heartwarming / LISA: The Hopeful

Go To

  • Cyclops will lash out at Lanks and Beltboy if things don't go his way, and Lanks just takes the abuse. But when push comes to shove, they really do care for each other. In a joyless run, Cyclops will start referring to Beltboy and Lanks by their first names, and confide to Beltboy that Lanks is a child that has to be protected and that he apologizes for being mean to him, before shedding a tear and succumbing to his wounds.
  • In the Rodriguez route, despite being a bossy jerk, Rodriguez gets a few moments where it's clear he cares about Beltboy, Lanks, and Cyclops. Most notably, when the Lovelies kidnap Lanks, Rodriguez immediately shoots down Cyclops' suggestion to abandon Lanks to his fate.
  • Two of the settlements that Beltboy and the gang comes across are actually pretty decent people. The Kegger Krew rescues them from their doped up state and provided them shelter, and is even willing to provide them a vehicle to send them on their way. That is, if they're not drunk enough to want to attack you. Then there's the Sports Dome who believe whole heartedly on sportsmanship, and will not attack Beltboy and his friends for any petty reason until they actually compete. One team even asks Beltboy to just hit the ball into the goal instead of fighting them.
    • There is also one competitor who is such a good sport, he sticks around after being defeated because he wants to see Beltboy win. He'll even help him recover from his knee wound, and send a friend to provide him transportation to the last section of the game.
  • In Beltboy's solo ending, the girl trusts him and saves him from death; in Pain mode, she trusts him enough to confide her mission of seeking out the other women.
