- Also functions as an Awesome moment and a Tear Jerker, Leafie's motherly instincts towards children (even to off-spring that aren't even her own) is amazing—in the end, after realizing that she probably won't survive the winter, she chooses to sacrifice her life by allowing One-Eye to kill (and ultimately eat) her so that One-Eye's babies (as well as One-Eye herself) will be able to survive the winter.
