Heartwarming / Keeping Mum

• Grace can tell that Gloria is driven to an affair with Lance because Walter's been neglecting her, obsessed with working on his sermon. So Grace prompts him to read the Song of Solomon, a passionate book of the Bible describing two lovers' physical affection and praise. In the next scene, while a voiceover of Walter reading the Song plays, the Reverend slowly places down the Bible and walks to Gloria, then kisses her neck while her eyes close with relief and love.
• Grace tearfully saying "I've waited so long for you to call me that", to Gloria referring to her as "Mother".
• Walter telling Gloria about how the conference went.
  Walter: But you know what was really amazing? It was what happened afterwards. Because I was getting praise from everybody, from the counsel and my peers. Normally that would be... But you know what I was thinking? Why am I here?
  Gloria: Well, you've always been a deep thinker.
  Walter: ...When what matters most to me is back home.
