At the end of the sixth issue of the black-and-white 64-page series, Howard's mother gives her approval of his relationship with Beverly when it was met with scorn from everyone else on Duckworld.

The final issue of the 2016 series ends on a very sweet note where Howard uses his wish to give Beverly her desired career as a veterinarian and comes back to her so she can mend his broken arm. The last panel shows Bev to be very happy that Howard has come back again.
