Heartwarming / High School Musical 2

• Ryan and the Wildcats playing baseball together. Considering the Wildcats, and especially Chad's, general opinion on theater, to see them having a good-natured competition is really sweet.
  • Ryan and Chad actually switch clothes afterward. Even disregarding the blatant Ho Yay, it's nice to see those polar opposites genuinely enjoying each others' company.
• Ryan and the East High gang working together on a number for the talent show. Even Troy looks touched when he sees it.
  • In fact, Ryan being able to really show off what he can do without being pushed into the shadows by his sister and being appreciated for it by people he had nothing to do with beforehand is quite touching. It's the first time we see him not being pushed around by Sharpay.
• Troy and Chad making up after Troy demands his old kitchen job back.
• Even though Ryan was angry with Sharpay after the latter was a jerk to him, this little line shows that he still cared about her after he stood up to her.
  Ryan: Troy, listen, all these people out there, I don't really want to see my sister crash and burn. At least, I think I don't. I think you should sing with her.
• Sharpay awarding the Star Dazzle award to Ryan also counts. She just looks so proud of her brother.
• Gabriella coming back and doing a duet with Troy after having left in "Every Day."
• Troy looking out for his fellow Wildcats by managing to get them jobs at the country club as well.
  • It is heavily implied that Troy only put up with Sharpay’s attention to ensure he and his friends kept their summer jobs.
• The moment many had been waiting for since the first movie finally comes to fruition. After constant teases throughout, we finally see Troy and Gabriella give each other a kiss.
  Gabriella: Here's to the future.
  Troy: No. Here's to right now.
  (The couple leans in for a kiss as they let go of their lanterns. And as they do so, fireworks go off.)
