Heartwarming / Gary and Mike

• Episode 9, "Springered". The duo winds up on an Expy of The Jerry Springer Show, where they're tricked into telling Gary's father about what happened with the van. Said father plans to force Gary into taking an accountant job to pay back for the SUV (with interest). Gary initially starts to go along with it, but as he's walking back to his father, he remembers the good times and freedom the impromptu road trip has given him. Ultimately, he chooses to go back on the road and Mike, who had seemingly left after Gary told him he would go back home, is there waiting on him. They peel out of there just as Gary's father comes busting out of the building.
  • Doubling as a Moment of Awesome when Mike verbally defends Gary against his abusive, militant jackass father, asserting that Gary's always had his back unlike Gary Sr whose treated him like utter crap. Gary's so touched to hear this he can't help but momentarily let go of his fear to smile.
