During the first episode, and a few later ones, we see Ryuga just interacting with normal people. Particularly heartwarming are the elderly couple playing chess and the clown and children in the park. Which makes episode 9 hit all the harder.

Episode 7. Seeing Takeru caring about Rui is pretty heartwarming
Nearly every interaction between them is this, really.
Episode 19. Zaruba finally accepts Ryuga as the new GARO and forms a contract with him.
Episode 20. Ryuga's reunion with his mother, who everyone was led to believe was dead for a long time.
