Heartwarming / 428: Shibuya Scramble

Go To

  • Achi trusting Hitomi and her situation, even though he has no idea what kind of trouble he's getting himself into or be hesitant whether if Hitomi could be trusted or not.
  • Achi's relationship with his sickly younger sister. He does his utter best to make her happy by avoiding trouble and trying his best to get along with their father, in which Achi's relationship with him is strained at the start of the plot.
  • Even under tight deadlines, Minoru manages to give a demoralized Chiaki some words of encouragement, providing her the determination and confidence to conduct a successful interview on the streets.
    • This in turn resulted in a role reversal where Chiaki intervenes in Minoru's decision to take responsibility of Toyama's debts by convincing him not to give up in such desperate times and his critical role in helping her to overcome her fears earlier on in his route.
  • Minoru again, offering Yanagishita advice and reassurance when his scheme to sell his dubious health drinks turned out to be a complete failure.
  • Kajiwara standing up for Osawa when the rest of his team discontinue the investigation, despite knowing that they are not permitted to continue pursuing a bioterrorist case, which is out of his team's jurisdiction.
    • Followed by him comforting an upset Osawa in his Darkest Hour and sharing how he sees himself in the latter. Even more heartwarming is that Kajiwara manages to build some trust with Osawa, with the latter trusting him enough to reveal his secrets; being a fan of a J-pop star and showing him the mysterious emails he received about the Ua virus.
  • After the case gets put on hold because of the mini-van explosion midday, Kano finally gets the chance to sit down and talk to Rumi's father, Shizuo. Up until now, he has been vehemently against his daughter marrying a detective due to the risks that come on the profession. As a former detective himself, Shizuo does not want his daughter to be alone or worrying about her husband, much like his late wife. But Kano affirms his desire to help anyone in need, which impresses Shizuo enough that at the end of the game, he is willing to talk to him more about letting him marry Rumi.
  • The friendship between Minoru and the taxi driver Kumizuki is as endearing as it is awesome. From the start of Minoru's route to the end, they've always had each other's back (Minoru paying him handsomely for his services, and Kumizuki popping in to offer him quick transportation when the situation called for it).
  • Osawa's resolution at the end of his arc to not let anything stop him from saving his daughter.
Kenji: Hang on, Maria. This time, your father's coming for you!
  • Despite the fallout from quitting S.O.S., Achi manages to make amends and convince Susumu and the others to help save Shibuya.
