  • The There-And-Back Book has a surprisingly sweet backstory:
A compilation of children's stories about great adventures, always ending with the traveller returning to the place they started. The love infused into its pages by countless generations has granted it power, allowing a skilled mage to transport others by reciting specific passages.
  • Sticking with Ignis the Dying Flame throughout a whole run, a dying god abandoned by every other Cinder Acolyte due to the fleeting nature of most of his gifts, qualifies. Ignis is designed to provide a better early-game, and then be abandoned to oblivion once the player is stable enough to avoid burning out with him; staying true to him and leaving the Dungeon with both him and the Orb of Zot, though it offers no confirmation on if you can actually save him, thus defies game design to be a good person.
