  • Bardock and Goku's meeting during Bardock's vision. In the dub, Goku tells him it's not too late for him to prove himself different from Frieza. Not only is this moment significant in that for the first time Bardock is reaching out to his son, but Goku in turn cares about his father enough to try redeem him. Bardock may have not managed to save himself or Planet Vegeta, along with missing out on becoming a part of his son’s life, but at least granted his wish to redeem himself in the end.
Goku: You know who I am, don't you Bardock?
    Bardock: Yes, you're my son.
Goku: It's not too late father. To be different, (turns to face Bardock, then morphs into Frieza) than him.
  • In Japanese, the whole scene is silent, making it even more poignant.
  • Bardock’s final goodbye to Goku in spirit. He thanks his newborn son and admits he was right that it was not too late to change. Bardock’s only regret? That he never got the chance to hold his baby boy.
  • Bardock and his crew’s relationship towards one another and Bardock’s heartbroken reaction to their slaughter. Saiyans are definitely a warrior race but treat their own crews as True Companions nonetheless.
  • When Bardock arrives on Planet Vegeta, heavily bleeding and exhausted from his fight with Dodoria’s crew, a couple of soldiers immediately runs up to him, greatly concerned for his well being and try to urge him to let them take him to recovery. One of them even breaks the news that he had just missed Goku’s departure to Earth by a matter of seconds before Bardock had arrived. The soldier himself said he wished that he had known Bardock was coming; then he could have delayed his son’s departure.
  • Grandpa Gohan finding Kakarot alone in the wilderness and adopts him right on the spot. When he is named Goku, the little baby let out the cutest of laughs as Grandpa Gohan happily holds him up higher.
Narrator: And the curtain opens on the grand adventure that is Dragon Ball.
