Heartwarming / Cyclone (1978)

• Sheila's friendship with the priest, especially when she talks to him about how she named her dog Christmas because he was born at the stroke of midnight on Christmas, like Jesus.
• The tour boat survivors have just worked out a water ration when they come across the survivors from the fishing boat and the plane. They let them on the tour boat (with its shaded roof) but initially refuse to share their water, even though none of their new companions have had any for days. The priest says they can have his share of the water ration and there's further argument. Then, the one boy on the tour boat (who initially gripped his water bottle tightly) looks at the exhausted fourteen-year-old girl from the plane, and puts the water bottle to her lips to pour her some, with is followed by the tour boat survivors quietly passing around most of the rationed water to the new arrivals.
• Monica's Maternity Crisis Screaming Birth has a surprisingly happy outcome. Mother and baby both survive, and even sour people like Taylor and Pichura are visibly touched by the baby's birth.
• Amidst the grim scenes of the lost survivors' families pleading for the Coast Guard to find them, one women is seen happily reuniting with her two preteen sons, who were initially lost in the storm, at the Coast Guard headquarters.
