  • After severe Mind Screw and horror, the ending WILL feel incredibly rewarding. To explain: After defeating Chronos, he gently sets down his hourglass and extends his hand to guide you to the Mental Echoes that will allow you to save the ship, everyone on it and yourself. Thanks to your struggle Chronos finds you worthy and Everyone Lives.
    • The three separate Mental Echoes which can make up the ending are particularly heartwarming.
      • "Let them decommission this." Instead of berating the captain during his BSOD, the engineer gives him a model of the North Wind with those words of encouragement. It gives the captain the will to continue on his course.
      • Before that, the first officer (who in the original timeline was indirectly responsible for the whole mess) choosing to go help with repairs rather than pass on the decommissioning orders in the first place
      • The security officer, instead of assisting the first officer with changing the ship's course to disastrous effect, instead chooses to assist the injured captain off the floor. The captain consequently quotes a verse from the book of Ecclesiastes:
Captain: "For if one falls, another will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth, and hath not another to lift him up."
      • The Security Officer also takes that moment to tell the Captain that he would beg HQ on his knees to preserve the North Wind, the simple act of humanity seemingly inspiring the First Officer to stay the course. The sheer joy in the man's voice when he realizes that the ramming maneuver worked is cathartic to hear.
First Officer: Open water! We've made it! We're under way!
  • The Bear sequence. You really feel good saving the creature's life with the Mental Echo.
