• In the film, big rough Reuben is so overwhelmed by the changes Flora has wrought on Cold Comfort that he asks her to marry him, in the sweetest, shyest way possible. Flora rejects him, likewise in the sweetest way possible.
  Reuben: Here, I...I don't suppose you'd marry me? I like your pretty ways.
  Flora: Oh, Reuben, that is nice of you. I like yours, too.
  Reuben (a little later in the conversation): That...that were a 'no', weren't it?
  Flora: Aye, it were no.
  • Bonus adorable: Flora affectionately speaks to Reuben in his Suffolk syntax, but with her flawless London accent.
