Heartwarming / Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection

Go To

  • At the beginning of Lelouch of the Re;surrection, Villetta is seen holding her and Ohgi's baby son.
  • When Lelouch wakes up Suzaku, in an awkward yet heartwarming way, he lets Suzaku use him like a punching bag, knowing how with Lelouch being alive would appear to be breaking the point of Zero Requiem and lying to Suzaku yet again, especially since Zero Requiem forced Suzaku to isolation because he had to take on the mantle of Zero and appear dead to the world.
  • Cornelia understandably still loathes Lelouch for what he did to Euphemia. However, when Lelouch takes off his Zero mask to beg for her help, she lets go of her anger and joins forces with him to help save Nunnally from the Zilkhstani terrorists.
  • Lelouch looks at the video of Kaname Ohgi and Villetta Nu's wedding party.
  • During the climax of Lelouch of the Re;surrection, Lloyd screams in rage after Cecile is shot and spends the rest of the battle holding onto her. He is relieved when the fight ended as they could now get her some help.
  • The night before the final battle takes place, Lelouch and Suzaku get a chance to talk. Suzaku tries to insist that Lelouch should assume the mantle of Zero, while Lelouch himself refuses because he doesn't believe he has any further right to meddle with current world affairs. Suzaku then tells Lelouch that he's glad to see him alive. After everything that had happened between the two in the show, it's heartwarming to see Suzaku can simply embrace the happiness of having his best friend back.
  • A minor one: after three movies (or two whole seasons if following the series instead) of fighting and despiting each other, Suzaku and Kallen finally fight side-by-side for a common cause. They even have a nice chat before the final battle, something that was inconceivable for either of them since the Black Rebellion. A fact that Suzaku lampshades.
  • At the end of the movie, Lelouch joins C.C. in Walking the Earth, and suggests he calls himself "L.L" as a sort of Wacky Marriage Proposal to C.C. and casting off his own name. C.C. ends up breaking down into happy tears. It's quite a nice sight if you're fond of this particular pairing.
  • Nunnally giving her final wishes before Lelouch heads. Throughout her time under Schneizel and the Imperial Family in the canon second season, she assumed that Lelouch, and Zero before the reveal, was nothing more than a power-hungry monster. Only after Zero Requiem did she realize everything he was Good All Along and always the kind big brother he was supposed to be. She even goes to tell him that it is her responsibility for everything he had to go through just to make and give her a gentler world, and that he have to take the burden alone. To the very end, Nunnally stays angelic at heart for him.
