Despite all the trouble and pain that the characters go through, Sherrilyn Kenyon adds a lot of Heartwarming to the series.

General
- Nick's sense of justice, humility, and fairness is exceptional in this world. The Malachai is supposed to be a being devoid of humanity and mercy. This is why it is so easy for him to hide his heritage. It's impossible for people to believe that the Malachai is so humble, kind, and friendly.
- Nick and Cherise have a very loving relationship. It is because of her love that he isn't a terrible Omnicidal Maniac trying to destroy the world.
- The Four Loves of Nick.
- Philia: How he feels towards Caleb and Ash. They are his best friends and look after him constantly.
- Eros: Kody and Nick's relationship. It progresses in a very real life way and doesn't go through the Rule of Drama that plagues most fictional relationships at least until it's revealed her mission is to kill him.
- Agape: His mom is the most important person in the world to him. He would do anything in the world for her, including, but not limited to: getting beaten half to death because she told him not to fight, walking her home everyday in the early mourning, helping to pay bills, going into a demonic realm after just coming back from Hel and facing armies of demons with only him and three others to help. The last two happened in one night.
- Storge: With bascically everyone he meets who isn't trying to kill him (and some people who do at first). It borders almost on All-Loving Hero how quickly he considers people family. The bears at Sanctuary, Bubba and Mark, Menyara, Kyrian, Dark-Hunters in general, Tabitha and her family, Simi. These aren't including all the people he meets by the time of his first appearance in The Dark Hunters. Basically, the last nine books of the series.
Infinity
- Nick, despite believing all his friends have died in a zombie apocalypse goes out of out of his way to comfort a young Ian who thinks his parents, and brothers are all dead.
- Team Fabulous
Invincible
- The kindness that everyone shows Nick and his mom at Santuary. No one looks down on them because of their poverty.
- Nick stating how he wants to be like Kyrian.
- Bubba's speech about how he is one of the nicest people he's ever seen.
Infamous
- Nick and Kody realizing their love for each other.
- Kody keeps Nick from killing himself. Remember that Kody's whole point for going back in time is to kill Nick.
Inferno
- This end of this book shows that Nick is getting over his Heroic Self-Deprecation and growing comfortable with himself.
- How Nick acts to Zavid. He believes he may have killed his friend but keeps him from dying and doesn't try to enslave him like basically anyone else would in his situation.
- The brotherly relationship that develops between Nick and Ash. It's a Callback to all the times in The Dark Hunters that Nick and Ash call each other brother. It also makes things Harsher in Hindsight when you see where that relationship goes.
Illusion
- Nick admits that he sees Kyrian and Bubba as his two father-figures.
- Nick tries very hard to protect, the alternate universe Simi, who is Ash's granddaughter, even after Ash has spent hours torturing him. He lampshades this when wondering how Nick could be the Malachai.
- This whole book is about Nick coming into his own and feeling comfortable with himself. This is very comforting since you see it shows Character Development has made him get over his Heroic Self-Deprecation.
- Nick doesn't put his new slaves in a prison like his Malachai ancestors. They have fought by his side and that is enough for him to give them freedom.
- Xevikan rescues Kody from an alternate dimension and does so for no other reason than because for the first time in his life, he has been shown kindness.
Instinct
- Xev standing guard over Cherise. The true extent of his PTSD and knowing what he lost is also a Tear Jerker.
- Nick going to ANOTHER hell realm to save his mother and best friend.
- Xev strengthening the magic defenses on Caleb's house even though he knows that Caleb hates him.
