• During the extended flashback to Philo's time in the war, his unit's encampment among the faerie refugees is initially met with disdain. But when a desperate call for blood donations to a wounded unit is sent out via telegram, Mima Roosan quickly volunteers to send some of her people to deliver the blood by air, which would be much quicker than delivery by land.
