- The Rebirth issue:
- Kate and her girlfriend Sophie flirting after a private bare-knuckle sparring session while at West Point.
- Issue #1:
- Where has Bette Kane been after being Put on a Bus in Kate's last series? Attending West Point, just like her cousin did.
- Julia mentions that the Bat-Computer's entry for Coryana describes it as "a wretched hive of scum and villainy" and posits that Tim Drake coincidentally added that in as a joke. While it's a bit sad to remember Tim's dead as far as these characters are concerned, it's pretty nice to see him being associated with something so goofy, especially by Julia, since Tim was one of the first Batfamily members she met.
- Rafael, an associate of Safiyah, helped nurse Kate back to health after she was injured in a possible suicide attempt and seems to genuinely care about her. Enough that he still recognizes her six years later and in her Batwoman uniform, while dying from being stabbed.
- Even though it might just be a hallucination, seeing Kate visiting Beth at her rehab center is touching, especially since Beth seems to have made major progress.
- Issue #11 features a flashback to a young Kate preparing to go trick-or-treating, only to realize that Beth isn't ready because she's embarrassed about having a broken arm. Thinking quick, Kate makes them both mummy costumes out of toilet paper to help disguise Beth's cast, then they leave to go get candy.
- In issue #14, Kate flatly refuses to get any of her other allies involved in stopping the attack on Gotham, and specifically says it's to protect them. Made even stronger by the fact that she's still saying this after all the Sanity Slippage she's endured at the hands of The Many Arms of Death.
- Issues #17 and #18 are full of these, showing Kate almost completely recovered from the giant mental and emotional strain she was under most of the series. It might be the happiest she has ever been written. And to cap it off, she and Renee decide to rekindle things.
