Heartwarming / All Fantasy Everything

• Any time the crew discusses fan interactions is really quite heartwarming. It's clear they all really enjoy what they do.
• Sean's relaying of a fan's message in episode 69, with the fan saying that the podcast had gotten them through a tough time. Sean, and the crew as a whole, were immensely appreciative, saying that they're delighted to hear if the podcast helps someone in any way.
• Also from episode 69, Ian's discussion of the divisive elements of episode 68 certainly counts as well. While he recognized the fanbase's concerns, he did encourage them to keep a positive, uplifting vibe towards any guests they may have on the show.
  • In addition, it's also nice to see a podcast host interacting so directly with the audience.
• Any time Ian references his mother, "Saint Sue Karmel". Of particular note was episode 51, Treats, where she actually made an appearance and referred to a treat for herself being doing her son's laundry when he's home. It was absolutely adorable.
• A fan wrote in asking for help in funding the purchase of a wheelchair to aid them in a medical recovery. Ian and the gang heavily promoted this on Twitter, resulting in the fan far exceeding the amount of money he was looking for.
• In Late Night Talk Show, after Sean discusses how much he enjoys hearing about how the podcast makes people laugh, Ian makes a snap-decision to read an email from a fan who had been helped through a tough time by AFE. Hilariously subverted, when it's revealed that Ian is making the letter up, as the "fan" claims to have been killed by Vlad the Impaler, one of Sean's earlier picks.
• During Solid Motherfuckers, a very drunk Ian named, as his final pick, Sean. By the end of his speech, both of them were nearly in tears.
• In the later years of the podcast, Ian gets married, as Sean both gets married and has a daughter. Whenever they talk about their spouses, their sheer joy is infectious.
