Introductory/Reuniting Arc
- Chapter 1:
- After landing in Remnant, despite having no context for everything going on, Sonic immediately jumps into action to protect a village from Grimm. And all he asks for in return is where the nearest city is.
- Sonic is up front about his actions, giving Glynda and Ozpin a bit of a relief that he'd own up to his actions immediately.
- Chapter 2:
- Despite his unfortunate exit, Knuckles is the main man of Team Sonic who's sure he'd survive the landing.
- Chapter 3:
- As Team Sonic make their way through the forest, they end up doing some bonding with their future teammates.
- Sonic reunites with Ruby, meets up with Weiss, and starts building the bridge of respect that they'll need if they're going to become partners.
- Tails pops in with Janue and Pyrrha. And due to Pyrrha's own smarts, makes a connection with her as people of brains.
- Knuckles starts showing his prowess to bust heads alongside Yang and Blake.
- And Amy makes instant friends with Ren and Nora thanks to her enthusiasm and hammer.
- As Team Sonic make their way through the forest, they end up doing some bonding with their future teammates.
- Chapter 4:
- Despite being who he is, Theodore is the one who tells Ozpin that perhaps they should bring Sonic's group in on their greater fight against Salem. That clearly they've dealt with something like this before and perhaps they could even win with their help.
- Sonic makes clear despite being the bold one who leads, he needs all his friends perspectives to make the best team ever.
- Ruby mentions that she got Tails's help to fix up their room as a small bonding moment with the alien friends.
- Though they aren't the best at showing it, Team Dark is glad when Sonic comes to pick them up.
- Chapter 5:
- Despite his rough methods, Shadow is genuinely pushing Jaune to grow to be greater if only he'd open himself up to help from others.
- Chapter 6:
- Knuckles playing the peacemaker and the shoulder to lean on to Blake. That he's learned to be patient with others, and so wishes to understand her own sadness before any judgment.
- And he gives a fond smile thinking about his "substitute guardian" who's watching the Master Emerald right now. That she's a lot like Blake and they'd make for fond friends.
- Despite how hard he came down on Weiss, part of Shadow's point towards her is that she can be better than what the business has done to the Faunus.
- Knuckles playing the peacemaker and the shoulder to lean on to Blake. That he's learned to be patient with others, and so wishes to understand her own sadness before any judgment.
- Chapter 7
- Even though they only became partners out of interest, there's something almost fun about how Robotnik and Salem see each other with a degree of respect from the jump.
Grimn Investigations Arc
- Chapter 10:
- When Penny's status as a robot is revealed, she's pleasantly shocked to learn that neither Ruby nor Sonic and his friends care. The latter even bring up their friendship with Omega to reassure her.
- Chapter 11:
- Sonic complimenting Sun and Neptune for capturing a White Fang goon.
- When said goon starts flinging hate speech at Weiss for her family's actions, everyone else immediately comes to her defense.
- Chapter 12:
- Amy giving Pyrrha a pep talk about her feelings on Jaune, even revealing her own days as Sonic's stalker.
- Blake apologizing to Sun for snapping at him earlier.
- Sonic begins showing Weiss the power of his philosophy to live free, and how that can make him good too. And this gives her a vision where she could be more than the pains she was escaping from.
- Chapter 13:
- Yang giving Knuckles a hug after hearing how he lost his father.
- Chapter 14:
- Blake seemingly almost manages to get through to Ilia. Unfortunately, Metal Sonic shows up and ruins it.
- Chapter 15:
- Penny is rather excited to be working alongside her father and Tails in the future.
Merlot Arc
- Chapter 17:
- Pietro and Tails get along swimmingly once they meet.
- When Pietro and Penny leave, Shadow can't help but think of his creator, Eggman's grandfather Gerald before he went mad, and Maria, respectively.
- Chapter 18:
- Sonic talking to Yang about his past need to learn to use a sword, and what happened to his version of Longclaw, allowing them to bond a bit more and for her to start getting over her resentment of Knuckles for showcasing the flaws in her technique.
- Chapter 19:
- Sonic complimenting Tails when he uses Dust to make the Cyclone effectively invisible.
- When Blake reveals what happened in her last White Fang mission to Sonic, Tails, and Yang, they're all clearly sympathetic, and Yang even says that Blake can sit things out if she needs to.
- When Sonic is troubled by leaving Goodwitch behind on account of her injuries, Shadow takes a moment to assure him that it wasn't his fault and that she can take care of herself. Nice to see the normally aloof hedgehog showing visible concern for his allies.
- Chapter 20:
- When "Ruby" (actually Mimic in disguise) claims to be useless, Sonic tells them otherwise immediately.
- Chapter 21:
- Sonic is sure to say that Merlot should give back ALL his friends, not just fellow Mobians.
- Amy saving Blake from a Mimic-droid disguised as Adam, and promising to help pummel the real one if they ever meet.
- Sonic saving Jaune from a Mimic-droid and reassuring the boy after the droid's verbal breakdown.
- Despite their lack of normal interactions with each other, Omega actually has a good piece of advice for Tails as they work together to hack Dr. Merlot's systems. With all the chaos given to them of late, Tails should consider investing in a personal weapon so that the Cyclone doesn't become a crutch for him too. Tails is taken by the idea, and promises to do so after they win here.
- Sonic saving Weiss from the Mimic-droid disguised as her father, then comforts her from the emotional trauma caused by the encounter.
- Even if it's biting back at someone associated with the prime evils, Raven's first actions as a human are trying to threaten Dr. Merlot to back down in order to save her daughter.
- The narration of her thought process shows that she’s concerned for not just Yang, but Ruby as well.
- Chapter 22
- Shadow, of all people, gives Yang some much-needed encouragement after what happened with the Mimic-robot.
- When the mimic droid asks "who would know" if he replaced Nora, Blake comes in with a "I would!" to save her.
- Chapter 23:
- Sonic asking about Glynda's recovery, with Ozpin assuring her recovery much to Sonic's relief.
- Even though it was a hard thing for Ruby and Yang to talk about the mission debrief, there are some shining bits of hope to come out of it.
- Ruby is sure to reassure to Yang that she doesn't hold the mistake against her, and that she also has some blame to shoulder after what Knuckles talked about with her and being a leader.
- Yang for her part is pleasantly surprised to see how fast her little sister is growing up.
- Knuckles for his part doesn't give any lip once Yang asks for him to teach her how to better use her semblance. He just repeats what he promised at the start of this all: All you had to do was ask.
- After warning them about Adam, Sonic's reassurances help ease some of Blake's worries.
- Tails cheerfully going to Penny and Pietro with his secret plans for his own weapon.
Vytal Festival Arc
- Chapter 25:
- Ruby offering a hand to Arslan before the start of their match in a show of good sportsmanship. While ABRN's leader first acts dismissive, she quickly cracks a grin and admits she was messing with her, returning the gesture.
- Torchwick genuinely complimenting Neo by saying that she's better at taking on the appearances of others than Mimic.
- Even though they're enemies, Eggman and his robots are mildly impressed at RWBY's continued growth as fighters.
- While done from a place of lingering shame, Yang is humble enough to admit to Ruby that after the mess with Mimic, Knuckles is only just beginning to reshape her technique as a fighter. And as such, she doesn't think she's the best choice for the Vytal doubles round.
- Knuckles for his part says that she IS improving, but respects her feelings to not push it.
- Chapter 26:
- After Team JNPR's victory, Shadow initially states that he wanted to see them to say that they need to meet about discovering the infiltrators. But as he walks away, he then tells them that they all used their talents well enough to build a strong base as a team. Which they all see as essentially a high compliment coming from him.
- Amy and Weiss bonding over the idea of pummeling Neptune is both this and hilarious.
- Chapter 27:
- Rouge complimenting Marrow during their fight.
- Despite losing, the Ace-Ops (Excluding Harriet) are good sports about it.
- Even though they lose against Shadow, Ozpin and Ironwood tell Qrow and Winter that they did well against him.
- Shadow telling Weiss that he doesn’t believe that Winter is a part of Ozpin’s conspiracy much to her relief.
- Chapter 28:
- Even if his protectiveness, work with Ozpin, and other issues make it hard for him to show it, Qrow clearly loves his nieces, and does not like it being suggested that Ruby be made the host of Amber's power.
- Knuckles and Yang continue to train and bond.
- While Weiss is training with Winter, struggling over making her Summon work properly, Weiss thinks to herself what would Sonic do in this situation. Weiss tries again and realizes that she wants to be as free as Sonic is. Free as the wind.
- Chapter 29:
- Flynt thanking Weiss for Taking the Bullet and saving his life from the magma geyser.
- Chapter 30:
- When Ozpin and his inner circle tell Pyrrha they are the protectors of Remnant and need her help, she asks why don't they just ask Sonic for help, showing the level of confidence and trust she has in him.
- Team Dark makes it clear that Pyrrha is under their protection. When Sonic calls them on a scroll, Rouge tells him to tell her friends she's safe and sound so they won't worry about her, giving Pyrrha some relief.
- After Rouge and Amy easily take down Neo together, they give each other quick praise
