"You deserve a happy ending as much as I do. We are both the same, you and I, don't you see?"

Like the story it's based on, A Little Lily Princess has its share of heartwarming moments. Be warned: All spoilers are unmarked.

Act 2

  • When Sara encounters a street urchin after getting money to buy rolls, she realizes that the child is actually starving, so she gives the child most of the rolls and only keeps one for herself.
  • The "magic" that comes after Sara's Darkest Hour provides her and Becky with food, warmth and comfort in their dreary attic rooms.

Ermengarde

  • On Ermengarde's route, it turns out that Ermengarde wasn't avoiding Sara because she thought she was beneath her, but she genuinely cared for Sara and merely didn't know how to talk to her when Sara was refusing to talk with her.
  • Even outside of Ermengarde's route, she's still on good enough terms with Sara to say goodbye to her.

Becky

  • Becky's ending. Sara invites her to live with her, not as a maid, but as an equal, and asks her to call her by name rather than "Miss."
  • Surprisingly, the fact that Becky continues to call Sara "Miss" in Act 2 also qualifies. Despite the fact that Becky risks getting in trouble, she refuses to treat Sara any differently.
  • Sara standing up to Miss Minchin and calling her out on her poor treatment of Becky. While it only results in Sara being Denied Food as Punishment for an entire day, the fact that Sara is willing to risk Miss Minchin's wrath for Becky's sake speaks volumes about how much she cares for her.

Lavinia

  • In Lavinia's ending, Sara not only ends up together with Lavinia, but forgives Jessie for reporting her to Miss Minchin and is apparently on at least decent terms with Ermengarde and Becky.

Lottie

  • When Lottie is told that she should treat Sara the same way she treats Becky, she does just that... and is nicer to Becky as a result.
