  • How exactly has Lambrick been getting away with this? Even assuming none of the survivors ever report him to the police, wouldn't the families of the deceased players do some investigating? He says Iris has no family to "ask questions", conveniently forgetting her brother, while Lucas has three sisters and Amy has a husband.
    • Lambrick has money, which more than likely allows him to screw the rules. Additionally, Lambrick mentions that Amy’s husband drowned their baby so he’s likely in prison.
  • During the final phase of the game, the two remaining contestants are repositioned to be sitting across from one another, with Lambrick sitting perpendicular to them. One is then presented with a gun and given the choice of either murdering the last remaining contestant, or having both of them walk away empty handed. Given the utterly gruesome nature of the game thus far, as well as the sadistic glee Lambrick shows throughout, why on earth would he position himself so close to someone who has every reason to want to shoot him instead of the other contestant? Even if doing so would result in the contestant being killed by Lambrick’s staff, they have no reason to believe that Lambrick will let them walk out alive even if they win his “game,” so could decide to take him down with them.
    • Because it would be a no-win scenario for the player. If they choose to shoot Lambrick instead, they lose everything. No victory, no money, likely die as a result. There's just simply no reason to do it. They already made it as far as they have in the game to win the cash, why throw it all away at the last moment? And sure, while the player has no guarantee Lambrick will actually pay up if they do win, it's a better chance than the 0% from killing him.
    • That's all fine and dandy if one is following a purely rational line of thought - and as both human nature and the state the average person will be in at the end of the game shows, the contestant will hardly be in a mentally stable condition, this expecting someone who has been put through so much suffering to make a "rational" choice while giving them an (unintentional) possibility to kill the same person who put them through this pain and suffering is quite idiotic to say the least. And that's without getting into the fact the third round can lead to permanent maiming such as Lucas Eye Scream and Iris narrowly-avoided The Tooth Hurts - for some people living in these conditions alongside the mental trauma would be a Fate Worse than Death and taking down the "game master" at the cost of their lives would be a more appropriate way to go out. Either way, he could avoid this risk in the first place if he stood on the far end of the room or simply gave Bevans the gun to perform the kill if needed while letting the chosen contestant make their choice.
  • What even was Barden's plan in there? Did he really expect to somehow take down all of of Lambrick's cronies by himself using only a pistol? Why didn't he just call the police on Shep's mansion while the game was still ongoing and catch him with undeniable proof of his actions while freeing Iris and the other contestants from the game?
    • Firstly, we do see him drinking quite a bit before he goes to the mansion, so he clearly wasn't in the clearest mental state. Additionally, considering the above point on how Lambrick was likely paying off the police to not investigate his games, going to the police may have led to him getting ignored, obfuscated, or silenced. Finally, he had no real context for how the game was progressing, so for all he knew the time it took to get police dispatched would have been after everything had finished.
    • This is also assuming his plan was to get out of the situation alive in the first place, as he may have been intending to get as many people out of the building while dying himself to make up for his cowardice.
  • Bevans. How bad is he? It could be argued that he's just doing his job, but the man shows no shortage of enjoyment when he personally tortures anyone. He isn't happy about Julian forcing himself on Iris and seems genuine when he regretfully informs her that the game is far from over. But then, he is clearly disappointed when he doesn't get to rip the same girl's teeth out. And to top it all off, he laughs and claps as enthusiastically as Lambrick when Iris forces herself to shoot Lucas.
