Headscratchers / We Can Be Heroes (2020)

• Let's just go ahead and say what everyone is thinking. HOW DID SHARKBOY AND LAVAGIRL HAVE A CHILD? Especially when the first film states Lavagirl only becomes safe to touch when she's asleep, which raises a lot of Fridge Horror issues.
  • In the movie's defense, it's been stated that Sharkboy and Lavagirl in this film are in an alternate universe than the first film.
  • Power of love. Because they love each other so much, they can love without burning or biting too much.
  • Lavagirl is shown touching people, including Guppy, and nothing bad happening, so we can safely assume that in this movie Lavagirl has her heat under control.
  • If two people want a baby but can't make one, there is always medical science to help out
• If the aliens are led by children, what happens when a child leader becomes an adult? Surely some adult aliens would resent having their leader roles getting passed down to children and won't take them seriously.
  • Then again, Ojo acts pretty maturely for a child throughout, at least in comparison to Granada and the other aliens, who are kind of bumbling and easily frustrated. Perhaps the aliens start off smart and mature as kids but then slowly become less so as adults, which is why they follow the kids pretty easily. An adult might not be as resentful if their mental faculties inherently make it difficult for them to lead.
• How are the people of America going to react when they find out that not only has the government been infiltrated by, mostly peaceful albeit violent aliens, but the fact that the Heroics knew all along and openly let them invade so they could test their children to see if they could work together? It makes the movie end more with an Esoteric Happy Ending than the triumphant Rousing Speech that Missy does when you think of the implications.
