• Why does Lucy refer to her stepfather as "Uncle Scott"?
  • Neal is Charlie's stepfather (married his mother after he was born) but Scott technically isn't related to Lucy at all (used to be married to her mother before she was born). It's an Honorary Uncle title.
• In the first movie, Scott was believed by the authorities to have gone crazy and was arrested and broken out of jail, which led to the police trying to hunt him down. So how is he able to walk freely in his old home town without being arrested again?
• Scott's rationale for how his courtship and marriage to Carol is not actually going "all so fast" for her is that she's known him (Santa) "all her life". But Scott obviously wasn't Santa when she was a child.
  • He might be referring to it in the sense that it's a collective identity that he is now a part of.
