- Why did Barrie need to know if Chris and Emily had sex that night? It quite frankly does not seem like her business.
- Something that always bothers me is when the suspect's dominant hand is used as solid evidence, because whilst a bit awkward, it is not impossible for someone to fire a gun with their non dominant hand. There are also some people who are ambidextrous. Why did neither of these things occur to Barrie?
- What police officer asks a teenager why they brought alcohol and doesn't know the answer?
- Why did Barrie assume that Emily had told Chris about the baby?
- Why didn't Emily tell Chris she thought of him as a brother? He would have been hurt, yes, but if she knew him as well as she should have, she'd have known that he wouldn't have hated her for it.
- Has no one in the book heard of the Westermarck Effect?
- Why didn't Chris bring blank cartridges?
