• How does Aerin protect her eyes from dragon fire? Since the book mentions her having salve on her eyelashes, does that mean that she just rubs it on her eyelids and hopes she'll be able to close her eyes in time? Because that seems less than perfect, especially given that she needs to be able to fight the dragon at the same time.
  • It seems like she just does her best not to get hit in the face. Which is more or less doable with the little dragons, but not so much with Maur—it's not really dwelled on, but along with her injuries, her vision is screwed up for a while afterwards. (Probably not as much as it should be for someone who just got blasted with a gout of fire, but that's Artistic License – Medicine for you.)
