Is there more to District 12 than just the town and the Seam?

  • The books call the Seam the poorest part of District 12, but the wording could be interpreted as meaning that is where the poorest miners live rather than all of them. Do the train station workers, warehouse workers, builders, electricians, community home workers, and other blue-collar professionals outside of the mines all live in the Seam (both in canon and in this story)?

Why did so few of the merchants survive the bombing of District 12 when Haymitch told Danny that there might be a need to run from military action?

Is Psycho Psychologist Dr. Petrinax Meadowbrook a sociopathic liar and police state shill? Or is does he really believe his theories about compassion being a mental disease?

Does the spread of outlier Victors make sense?

  • Districts 9 and 5 have 5 Victors apiece from the first fifty years of the Games (when no other outlying district has more than two Victors at that point), but only get one Victor between them in the last 25 years of the Games. Does it make statistical sense that they did so well in the first 2/3rd of the Hunger Games era and so poorly afterward?

Is it just bad luck or Executive Meddling that District 6 never gets a Victor until after the 2nd Quarter Quell?

Is Cloelilia from The Golden Mean one of the District 8 stylists who Coin executes (given being a Rebel should have protected her) or is she an unassigned member of the stylist pool?

Are there too many mentors for the 3rd Quarter Quell?

  • Haymitch refers to Wealthy and Miracle as the District 1 mentors (implying they don't have anyone backing them up) and never mentions District 2 having teams of mentors for Brutus and Enobaria, while Districts 3, 6 and 8 require "loaner" Career mentors due to not having any spare Victors (with District 10 Victor Toffy also filling that role for District 11). That means that there should be six mentors from Districts 1 and 2 in the viewing center after Lyme (assigned to District 6) takes a train home as soon as both morphlings are dead. However, there are at least 8 Victors from Districts 1 and 2 (Wealthy, Miracle, Diamond, Philo, Cinamon Calabray, Otho Magro, Lucanus Bazzett, and Verge Gatty) mentioned as being in the mentors' viewing center at one point of the Quell or another, with others presumably being there as well for 18 Victors to have died in the viewing center battle when the number of identified victims and survivors are tallied up.
