• In Elminster: The Making of a Mage, Elminster is twelve when the novel begins. His uncle Belaur, the king, is twenty-nine, and the oldest of the princes. So how old is Elminister's father, Elthryn? He's only the fourth son. So did he father Elminster at twelve himself, or what? While this has happened, of course, it's hard to imagine the author intended it.
  • It's possible that some of the brothers were twins or triplets but more likely an author mistake.
