  • The movie is presented as a story told by Victor to save himself from being executed. But, while telling the story, Victor confesses to killing professor Bernstein. Why does he think telling that story would help him?
    • We do not know if he actually told the priest that he personally killed the Professor. He could have claimed that the death was an accident, and that he was told to extract the brain. Remember that this version of Victor is as much of a liar as he is shortsighted in regards to what he wants.
    • It's also possible that Victor still doesn't really understand how terrible his deeds are, and justifies it all For Science!. He hopes that if what he has achieved is understood, he will be spared for his priceless knowledge.
