Headscratchers / The Cable Guy

• Unless Robin was in a previous relationship with some guy who was rather possessive of her, which could’ve given a legitimate reason as to why she turned down Steven’s marriage proposal, her reaction to his said proposal was, in my opinion, highly disproportionate. She could’ve just said no and not kick him out of her apartment, so why exactly did she do the latter?
  • I have wondered the same thing actually. Why kick him out? It didn't make sense. Steven later says that he will have to work extra hard not to screw things up again. What??? He didn't screw things up the first time! More background was needed on this aspect of the story.

• Steven finds out from his buddy Rick that Chip Douglas had been fired from the cable company for stalking customers and didn't even work there anymore. If that was the case then how did Steven meet Chip in the first place? Steven had to go through the cable company to set up the initial appointment where he met Chip. If Chip was fired later, then why was he still driving the cable company van around? He stole a van on his way out and the cable company never noticed? And how did he get a job with the cable company in the first place if he never told anyone his real name? There was no background check when he applied for the job?
