• Lady Mamiya apparently accidentally killed her baby by turning on the furnace while he was playing in it. But why was he playing in the furnace in the first place?
  • Going by the corpse we see in the movie, it seems he was no older than two or three years old. A small child like that could easily crawl into the furnace without anyone noticing, he wouldn't know that the furnace isn't a place to play yet. Lady Mamiya just wasn't watching him close enough.
• What actually is the point of the doppelgängers? they don’t look scary and all they do is just attack the party like any other enemy what’s the point in them being doppelgängers if they aren’t going cause conflict in between the group.
• I can understand the video game not getting rereleased even in Japan since it's a licensed game, but why hasn't the movie ever been rereleased? It can't be because Toho are ashamed of their non-kaiju works, because both Kwaidan and Hausu have Criterion releases, and neither of them had video game adaptations that helped inspire a multi-million dollar franchise.
