  • The aliens use active camouflage to make themselves invisible on the visual spectrum, but no one ever acknowledges that Geordi's VISOR would have made it much more difficult for them to remain invisible to him.
    • Their abilities render them undetectable to sensors, not just hidden on the visible spectrum. There's no reason to assume that Geordi's VISOR would have detect them when even the Enterprise sensor couldn't, especially as he demonstratively didn't see them when he was on the planet with them years earlier.
  • When Riker and Worf go to the holodeck to locate Geordi, why do they begin searching the holographic terrain instead of simply turning off the simulation?
    • It's likely that, if he was in there, the holodeck environment suddenly disappearing would panic Geordi (and someone who panics generally tries to make a run for it) when they would have preferred to bring him in calmly. It's also possible that doing so could have resulted in an injury to Geordi, if for example he were standing on something which suddenly disappeared when the holodeck deactivated. Presumably, even if there are safeguards against that normally, they wouldn't work if the ship can't sense that you're present. Either way, it was safer to at least try looking for him before just jumping to the solution of trying turning off the holodeck.
  • What happened to the blinking VISOR implants in Geordi's head after he transformed? Did Crusher have to replace them?
    • Quite possibly as part of the transformation Geordi just developed an external skin which covered them, which gradually broke down when he reverted back. However, if not then yes Crusher would have had to replace them. Presumably while she was working on changing him back she would have taken the time to fix his implants, if necessary, rather than having him wake up unable to see.
