• How on earth do we reconcile the timeline?
  • The best way is to assume season 1 was spread out over a 5 year period. The nuclear bomb was an experimental type which only destroyed buildings and not people (hence why we hear Trunk yelling over the ruins of the city). Therefore the city was rebuilt for season 2. Some episodes of season 2 are set 5 years before in season 1 and those making contemporary references are post bomb.
