Why does this movie have practically no continuity with School's Out?
Why does Taking the Fifth Grade act as if the movie it directly picks up from never happened? The Third Street kids basically saved the world from being plunged into another ice age, and nobody even so much as alludes to it. The big talking point that gets T.J. and co noticed by the new king is their more recent, much less monumental victory against the school board's new policies, Becky has gone back to being mean, heck, Prickly doesn't even follow up on his threat from the end of the movie ("Come September, you're mine! I still haven't forgotten that 'saggy butt' comment"). The closest we get is T.J. and Prickly being on friendlier terms, and T.J. bringing up how Prickly remembers what it's like to be a kid. Why are last year's kindergarteners still kindergarteners in the first segment, and suddenly first graders in the second?
Why would the faculty wait to take all the play equipment and pave the lawn on the first day of school, much less when the kids are supposed to be out for recess?
