Headscratchers / Princess Protection Program

• Why did Carter's bedroom have two beds? She seems to be an only child.
  • It's never stated she's an only child, for all we know (and what do we even now of her family background ? The absence of a mother isn't even explained...) she has an older sibling whom she previously shared that room with and who by now is living elsewhere and just never mentioned.
  • Alternatively, maybe it's just a bed for when friends (or cousins or such) of Carter's sleep over. Or maybe the house just doesn't have a guest room and it's just a bed for guests in general.
  • Or, Fridge Brilliance: Carter's father already put the bed there because he knew the Princess Protection Program would need it (without telling Carter of the P.P.P., obviously).
• Why was Rosie's story in a magazine if Costa Luna is an unheard of country?
  • Unheard of in the U.S., or probably in the Western world in general, but not in Spanish-speaking countries — isn't Costa Luna implied to be a South-American country anyway ? Remember the girl who discovers the magazine even has to specifically ask a librarian for a Spanish-language magazine (for the girl's Spanish class) to even be able to find the magazine, it is clearly not a thing average Americans read !
