• Why is the Gold Ranger called the Gold Ranger anyways? His outfit is more black than gold, and his sentai counterpart (Kingranger) is classified as a Black Ranger. There was no Black Zeo Ranger among the core 5, so why didn't they just call him the "Black Zeo Ranger"?
  • Pyramidas is gold. It's a pyramid, and there's King Midas' name in there. It's a golden pyramid.
  • It's not just Pyramidas being gold. Even in the original, Kingranger's energies were often gold in color rather than the usual purple associated with Black Rangers. The ONLY instance I can recall of Kingranger using the typical Black Ranger-associated purple energy color was in the final transformation in Ohranger's last episode. Otherwise, pretty much everything else on Riki was gold in color (barring the white gloves on the suit). What stood out more was the gold color. While it was JUST his armor, it and all the other bling on him stood out more than the black suit. Abare Black avoided being reclassified as the Gold Dino Thunder Ranger as Black was explicitly in the Sentai Ranger's name. Moreover, unlike the Kingranger suit, for all the gold on the Abare Black suit (and hell, his Zord has decked out in bling more than black), they were merely accents, away from the center, to ensure that the black was the first thing that would catch your eye, and thus, you wouldn't mistake him for being a Gold Ranger, merely a special Black Ranger, as seems to be the norm. I think Toei learned to be careful because of the Kingranger example. Zyuoh The World is meant to be an exception as he's explicitly supposed to have what could've been the powers of two other Zyuohgers, hence having gold and silver on him, but since his main animal, the rhino, is associated with black, he's primarily a Black Ranger by designation.
  • It could also be because Billy took up the "black" color spot on the team even though he wasn't actually a ranger.
    • Hilarious in Hindsight when Billy is a dark skinned person in the 2017 movie.
  • Billy was white.
• Why did they need someone new to take up the Gold Power? Back in season 1, when Tommy lost the Green Ranger powers, he was able to hand off the Dragon Shield and the Dragon Dagger (and the control of Dragonzord that it offered) to the Red Ranger, so why wasn't Tommy able to similarly take up the Gold Ranger's staff and powers?
  • Sentai footage. In Ohranger there never was a power transfer. Riki remained Kingranger all thru the series in fact the whole Gold ranger arc's ending was basically a huge last minute cast change since Ryan Steele's actor couldn't be hired. And Billy's actor quitting midway due to persecution for being gay.
  • On a practical note, Tommy was only able to pass on the Green Ranger powers to Jason when most of the Green Power Coin's energy had been drained by the Green Candle. In this case, the Gold Ranger powers were still 'intact', so passing them on to an already-active Ranger could have been too dangerous, much like how the past-Zordon warned the time-displaced Kimberly that taking on too much energy could be dangerous if he gave her the past Pink Coin in "Wild West Rangers".
• In Chouriki Sentai Oh Ranger, Defector's counterpart was genuinely good, and later brainwashed by Mondo's counterpart. Why was this changed in here?
  • Power Rangers changes stuff for various reasons.
  • An Adaptation isn't a Dub. Power Rangers is an adaptation. Most of the time.
  • Writers may have chosen to Bowdlerise the Unfortunate Implications of killing a brainwashed good guy.
• Why did the Rangers buy Main Drain's fake surrender act in the first place? The monster was WINNING, they hit him with the sword about five times beforehand and he seemed pissed off, not weakened. He likely would have blasted them with energy attacks next and he probably would have survived the finisher (although it would have bought them some time to escape and formulate a plan).
• Why didn't the Zeo Ultrazord fire a double-blast once it saw that Impursinator could barely contain their first blast? It was very close to bursting from the excessive energy.
  • Keep in mind that we never see the Zords fighting for more than a few minutes at a time; as a last-resort weapon, it's possible that the Zords can't be used for long before needing to charge, particularly after deploying their traditional finisher weapon.
• Why is Ernie's surname never confirmed even though his uncle-I think-was Mr. Burble, the founder of Burble Baby Food Company and Ernie had been the first Burble Baby Food Baby. You'd think that they'd confirm in that episode that his surname is also Burble, or-given the difficulty that the company had in finding him-just what his surname is to explain why it took them so long to find Ernie.
• In a couple episodes Mondo gets mad at someone for uttering the word "love", implying that he's so evil he finds the very concept of love abhorrent. Yet he clearly does love Queen Machina, so how does this make sense?
