  • The final trailer being dropped for LGPE raises a few questions, once it shows Red, Green, and Blue all in the trailer. Assuming their involvement is the same as previous games, these characters all hail from Pallet Town. But we literally fulfill that role now. So...where do the three of them live exactly? It's not exactly a large town, the housing number hasn't been updated. Are we all siblings depending on gender? How does this work?! I have so many questions.
  • Following the same vein of the previous thought, where does this game fit into the timeline? Logically it would seem to be the Mega Evolution timeline, but Red uses his design from the Generation I games, rather than the Generation III games, so it doesn't fit based on that alone. But Mega Evolution is present in this timeline, despite the fact that it seems to apply another timeline entirely.
    • To make it even worse, this timeline takes cues from the manga in terms of their teams; Red has Venusaur, Green (Blue) has Charizard, and Leaf (Green) has Blastoise.
    • Then Mina shows up from Alola in Kanto to battle you, and she's 13-15 here according to concept art, but in SM, Red and Green (Blue) were adults, so if she's here when they're children, it's just even more confusing.
    • Another thing to add fuel to this confusing fire is how, after you meet Blue, he says something to the effect of "Gramps finally made the Pokedex, huh?" which implies that when he, Red, and Green went on their journies, they didn't have it ...so... fourth or fifth timeline?
    • Arguably, it's just meant to be an Alternate Continuity by now. Don't think too hard of the implications.
    • Different person here; maybe Oak did give them a Pokedex, and what Blue said about Oak finally making it was meant to be but a silly little dig at ol' Grandpa? Wouldn't be terribly out of character for him, at least.
    • The multiverse reveal on Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is often misunderstood. There aren't just two timelines, every single Pokémon game save file is a different timeline. Some are more similar than others (two saves from Pokémon Red), some have slight differences (a save from Red, one from Blue and one from Yellow), some are way different (a save from Red, one from Fire Red, one from Let's Go Pikachu), but they're all alternate timelines. Some have Mega Evolutions, some don't. It's better not to think of any Pokémon games as sequels anymore, not even the likes of Gold/Silver are true sequels to Red/Blue, but alternate continuities where events similar to the ones in Red/Blue happened prior (but with a guy named Red, who managed to get all starters in his team, instead of whatever name and team your gen 1 protagonist had). This also explains away any retcons or mechanics changes they may want. It's not a change, it's how things have always been in these universes for the past 20+ years at this point, even during the unseen events that mirror past games.
    • It can fit into the Mega timeline. Here, Red, Blue/Green (and Green/Blue) defeated the Elite Four as usual, but Team Rocket only became active after they had done their journeys, so Let's Go's protagonists are up to the task of stopping them - same with completing the Pokédex. Giovanni in the Team Rainbow Rocket episode only mentions being defeated by a child, so Let's Go can be worked into his backstory. Red using his Generation I design is no issue as his first appearance in the Mega timeline was in Sun and Moon, where he has a different outfit. Same with Mina appearing as well as her age - she seems to be around the same age as Red and Blue/Green, and she is an artist that lives in a village where everyone lives in a boat, so she might just be touring.
      • But here Mina is 13-15 which would make her 33-35 years but Mallow states that once Trial Captains turned 20, they retire, either Mina time traveled when she was younger or Mallow's statement is a Blatant Lie.
      • Mallow might simply have been generalizing with her statement. Presuming trial captains aren't a paid position most people would have to focus on a career at some point and wouldn't have the spare time to dedicate to trials. This would make Mina more an exception since she both seems to be a career artist and has to be constantly reminded to do her trial duties anyway.
      • But she's a rookie and too old. So Mallow's statement is obliviously a lie.
