Headscratchers / Night Shift (1978)

  • The teenaged preacher Burt hears on the radio early in "Children of the Corn", it's shown that the broadcast station is nearby which is why the signal is so clear when all the others are almost inaudible, but who is he broadcasting for exactly? He includes corn in his sermon, so it seems he's part of the cult, but it's implied that the children have abandoned modern technology, and Gatlin doesnt have any power, so how is he powering the station? There's no other towns around for miles so it's not like his broadcast can reach anyone else outside the area.
  • "One for the Road", previously in 'Salem's Lot the newer vampires seemed to prefer visiting a victim over several nights to feed, here they apparently immediately drain their two victims who then rise right away the same night, instead of dying some time later after being fed on, possibly during the day when they'd rise at the next nightfall. They may not be able to starve to death, but they might be very hungry.
    • Even if they're passing through the area, no one in their right mind is going to actually stay in the creepy-as-shit abandoned town for several nights, which forces the vampires to adapt. It's also possible that the vampires have grown powerful enough (see also: the corruption of the town nullifying the need for invitations in the novel) to kill on the spot instead of having to wait.
