Headscratchers / Monkeybone

Go To

  • Okay, I'm probably giving this movie way too much credit by expecting it to make sense, but here goes. When Monkeybone escapes into Stu's body and Stu gets imprisoned in Down Town, he runs into a few people who also lost control of their bodies, including Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, Lizzie Borden, Jack the Ripper, and Attila the Hun. King mentions that his own character Cujo took over his body like Monkeybone took over Stu's — but that makes so sense! Cujo is a rabid dog, and at no point has King ever been known to act like a mad dog in a human body. If you want a creator who became possessed by one of his characters ... David Bowie, with his coke-fuelled "Thin White Duke" persona, is right there! (Bowie probably wouldn't have wanted to appear As Himself, since he sought to distance himself from the Duke as much as he could after Station to Station. But in that case, they could've just brought in Tilda Swinton to play him.)
    • Obviously Cujo is a lot more articulate of an animal than anyone, even Stephen King himself, gave him credit for.
