Headscratchers / Highlander II: The Quickening

Go To

  • MacLeod grabs hold of a BFS from one of the guys sent to kill him early on and uses that for the film. Yet in the final battle with Katana, he whips out signature katana. Where was it the whole time? And if he had it, why didn't he use it instead of the BFS?
  • Why didn't Katana just tell all the immortals from the get go what awaited them if they won the prize? Imagine if he said "if you win, you lose your immortality and have to go to a Crapsack World desert planet where I'm still in charge." I doubt many of them would respond with "sounds great!". But then again we are looking for logic in the actions of a madman.
  • How can this all happen given the end of Highlander:Endgame?
    • Simply put in this film we see that one immortal can resurrect another given the right circumstances. Therefore it is possible Duncan MacLeod can resurrect Connor after the events of this film.
  • Why don't MacLeod and Ramirez remember one another from their days on Zeist?
    • In order to reconcile this film with the first one we must assume that not only were they banished to Earth but their memories wiped, they were youthed into babies and placed at different periods of history. Other Highlander movies and tv shows stick with the idea of all immortals are foundlings (abandoned babies adopted by strangers).
  • How is the Shield Corporation supposedly "price gouging" the rest of the world? They can't just turn off the shield if everybody refused to pay, since they need the shield up to survive as well.
    • Its a Cyberpunk Dystopia and they're probably claiming X amount of cash is what's needed to keep the shield up. Obviously, no one can take the risk it will fail.
