While it's still a good show, there are some things in it that may leave some viewers puzzled.

Spoilers will be unmarked in this page. You've been warned.

General

  • How is Joey able to communicate between time periods? I mean, his friends are in 2016-2018 and he's in the 1920s, the Victorian Era, 1978. So how exactly is he able to communicate with them by writing letters to invite them to the places he wants them to be at?

Season 1

  • What exactly defines the ownership of the house? Joey says in the opening monologue that the house became his, but then at the party, he contradicts himself and says that he's not the owner until he gets the deed. Is it his or is it not his?

  • In episode 3, the group digs up the coffin only to find it empty. Yet we see in the pre-episode flashback that Caroline was locked inside of the coffin with a chain on it. If that's the case, shouldn't her body still have been inside or did some sort of demonic force take it?

  • In episode 4, when Tim leads Sierra out to the car to get the mannequin; how did another car get there to begin with? In episode 1, not only did we see the car explode, we also saw that someone locked the fence with a chain. There's no way they would've been able to get another car into the property.

Season 4

  • Why don't any of the guests in purgatory have marks on them indicating their deaths?
    • The Collector probably cleaned them up with her magic, like how she put new clothes on them

  • How did Alex and Jezebel have any time to get away from the others and establish a connection? We don't see them getting away from the group at all, so was it just an off-screen thing?
