- What was David (Haley's father) doing in the basement during the middle of a flood?? He should've heard the flood and heard the emergency broadcasts coming.
- It was last minute repairs trying to protect the house from being damaged too much by flooding, which Haley explicitly stated was a stupid thing to do. In David's defence, he admits that he was just too attached to the house, but it's also worth considering that he was attacked a whole day before the weather got bad enough that he would have been advised to leave.
